Tracks: Instructional Design

Chances are you didn’t aim your childhood aspirations on elearning and instructional design, but here you are. At some point you decided to commit to this career with great passion, and presumably you want to be the best that you can possibly be, right? Right!

In this session, Cammy Bean will share her thoughts on building a more intentional elearning career. For those just getting started in digital learning design, we’ll talk about the many hats that IDs often need to wear and identify your own sweet spot and gaps. We’ll talk through tips for better elearning design, including taking a look at learning models, getting the tone right, and creating more meaningful interactivity. Along the way, we’ll look at examples of eLearning courses, giving you ideas and inspiration to take back to your own projects.

In this session, you will learn:

  • That you are not alone in your journey as an accidental instructional designer; you have a big cohort of fellows IDs on this same path
  • About the many hats that IDs typically wear, and identify your own sweet spot and gaps
  • Top tips to apply to your own learning design projects
  • About different technologies being used in digital learning these days
