Whether we like to admit it or not, most of us need nudges in life. And workplace learning is no exception. Of course, we need to remind learners to complete mandatory compliance training on time but there are also other important use cases for reminders such as nudging learners to reflect, practice, and put into action the things they have recently learned and committed to work on. But how do you break through the mountain of noise thrown at each person? What is an effective way to get a meaningful, personalized reminder in front of a learner?

In this session you’ll learn that there are two core pillars in making an effective nudge. First, you have to actually be able to reach the learner with your nudge. Second, the nudge has to be written in a way that resonates with the individual learner. Chatbots are perhaps the most effective way to ensure that both pillars are accomplished. You’ll learn how to leverage the “virtual persona” of a chatbot on a channel like Teams to create a natural, frictionless, and engaging experience by designing a personality and tone of reminders that learners welcome. You’ll also discover how to program the automation in chatbots to deliver highly personalized and contextual reminders for each individual learner. Learners can share their personal preferences for frequency and timing of these reminders, empowering them to take more ownership for the accountability of their learning journeys. You’ll get tips on how to cover the spectrum of audience types, from part-time hourly workers on their feet to full-time senior managers that are glued to their desktops all day. You’ll leave this session understanding the best practices of delivering the ideal nudge that will result in you feeling more confident that you can maximize the value of all your learning programs.
