Tracks: Virtual Classrooms
Many of us find ourselves presenting on virtual platforms. You may be presenting to your executive leadership team at a conference or need to run a large meeting. There are a lot of classes out there to teach you how to deliver and produce those sessions effectively. But there are secrets to prepping for the virtual platform, things to do before you even open the application. It all involves your pre-session prep and your physical environment. We’ll talk about everything that you need in lighting, camera angles and your position, virtual environment tips, and how to ready yourself for your moment in the spotlight.
In this session, you’ll look at how to prep your environment for a virtual platform, whether it’s a meeting, an interview, a presentation, or another event. Using the information shared by professional photographers and videographers, as well as sharing my own “Zoom Room,” you will learn how to be ready for your big moment. We’ll start with lighting basics, followed by setting up your environment. We’ll cover the dos and don’ts of virtual backgrounds, how you should sit, and your camera angle, and follow that with small tips and tricks for your virtual platform. Finally, we’ll go over the practice needed before your big day. You will walk away with ready to present your best self in your next virtual event.
In this session, you will learn:
- To compare and contrast lighting options and natural light
- Where to sit and how to sit for the most professional appearance
- The best camera angles and where to place your laptop or webcam
- When or if to use a virtual background
- Knowledge and tips of the best ways to practice
