Or, have you ever received contradicting changes and edits from competing SMEs? The good news is this is normal. The better news is that if we know this will happen, we can manage miscommunication and establish a good plan. Part of that plan involves good asset management.
Communicating through the design phase is hard enough, but the lack of communicating the expectations and transitioning from design to development is where things really fall apart. After the initial analysis concludes and eLearning is chosen, designing that solution is the next step. Often SMEs do not fully comprehend the process, and it is challenging to communicate the final output during the design phase.

Storyboarding is a documentation process comprising documents outlining the instruction with various notes on developing the project. When content, including all media assets, have clear design notes, documents, and scheduled meetings, all speak the same language. In this session, we’ll look at a simple asset management plan. We’ll discuss a few ways to manage a communication plan and workflows for documenting the design through storyboarding, visualizing with models to aid in communicating the expectations when transitioning to development, and other tips to help you be more efficient.
