Explore how FHI 360’s learning and development group empowers individuals, teams, and leaders with high impact visual data to advance organizational learning, increase engagement, and deliver on our mission. By improving your data systems and business intelligence tools, your colleagues will be better equipped to guide learning and culture. In this session, you will reflect on the types of learning data requests you receive in the workplace; discuss how to support a team, project or organizational story with compelling visual data utilizing Microsoft Power BI; and identify opportunities to leverage these tools to make your work more engaging, effective, and aligned with corporate culture.

You will be introduced to our organizational report, built in Power BI, that connects to several sources of learner data and synthesizes it to be more useful for all staff. With this demonstration, we will facilitate small group activities to help you identify possible data stewardship practices to implement back in your role such as assessing project needs and identifying trends. As a group, we will share ideas for making data engaging, relevant, informative, and compelling for our audiences. We will also identify some challenges we have met and our tips for their mitigation. We’ll share use cases of where our efforts push the organization beyond viewing learning as compliance, with static reporting mechanisms, and manual updates, to an increasingly dynamic, current, and engaging process. This analysis and alignment with the organization’s mission yields improved opportunities for goalsetting, strategic impact, and building cases for continued investment globally, and you’ll bring back opportunities for your work as well.
